Things are progressing from your reunion committee!

Couple of things that need your attention, please.

First, there are some good deals on hotel rooms that we'd like to pass along. With the Stargate project underway in Abilene, hotel rooms have become more expensive and hard to come by due to the workers and those associated with the construction.

The MCM Elegante we have rates at $159 single, double for $174, and triple for $199.

The Whitten Inn on Clack is $159 flat rate,

The Marriott by the Mall is 220, flat rate.

If you want to get one of these rates, or have any questions, you'll need to email Gary Grubbs to let him know. His email is ggrubbs@lawrencehall.com.

The other item is we plan to live stream the reunion like we did for the 50th on Facebook.

However, this time we're going to use YouTube. I've created a YouTube channel just for this reunion. In order to live stream, we need at least 50 followers for the page in order to live stream, per the rules of YouTube.

The thing that's better with YouTube over Facebook, is anyone can access stream without the need to have a Facebook account like before. YouTube does not require you to have an account. All you need is the link I'll provide.

So, please go to YouTube page and hit subscribe to help us share the reunion for those who wont be attending. The video is automatically recorded so if yu cant see it live, it will be there to view anytime. The sooner the better, please.

Class of 71 Registration is now open for the 55th CHS Reunion.

It’s time to come home again, Cougars.

Our 55th reunion is just around the corner, and this year we’re keeping things simple, relaxed, and all about connection.

Unlike our 50th, there’s no program, no schedule, no formal events — just plenty of time to visit, laugh, share stories, and enjoy being together again.

We’ll have:

- A full buffet dinner

- A cash bar

- A comfortable space to catch up with old friends and make new memories

Whether you’ve been to every reunion or haven’t made one yet, we’d love to see you there. Let’s celebrate 55 years with the people who shared the start of the journey.

I really hate to ask this, but in preparation of our 55th reunion, I'm beginning to work on our Class remembrance video.

Even if you're not sure of someone, let me know as I can research it and possibly find something.

They may not be at the reunion physically, but we can honor them as a part of our gathering.
