Jonathan Wade Turner

Jonathan Wade Turner, 68, of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico passed away on September 1, 2021.

Wade was born on June 14, 1953 in Abilene, Texas to Lee Turner (née Sears) and B. Jack Turner. Following his graduation from high school in Abilene, he attended and graduated from Baylor University, where he was a member of the Kappa Omega Tau fraternity. Upon his college graduation, Wade pursued a career in sales, and had the opportunity to serve clients and customers in a variety of roles.

One of Wade's great passions was coaching his two sons in youth athletics. He instilled in his sons the importance of practice, never giving up, and facing adversity with a positive attitude. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was enthusiastic about all things relating to Baylor University. He had especially fond memories of his time at Baylor and developed life-long friendships while there.

Wade was preceded in death by his father, B. Jack Turner and his brother-in-law, Brian E. Cutbirth. He is survived by his two sons, Kyle Turner (and wife Amy) and Chance Turner (and wife Kim); and five grandchildren, Caroline Turner, Jack Turner, William Turner, Tillman Turner, and Tapley Turner. He is also survived by his mother, Lee Turner and his two sisters, Jacki Parker (and husband Jimmy), and Judy Carter (and husband Bruce).

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Abilene, officiated by Rev. Stan Allcorn.
