Michael "Mike" Warren Wallis was born on August 18, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Deloyd and Betty Wallis. He passed away at the age of 57 on Thursday May 19, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene with burial following at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday May 22, 2011 from 6-8 PM.

Mike graduated from Cooper High School in 1971 and later attended Tarleton State University. He worked many years for Bill Jay at Abilene Cattle Feeders and later owned and operated Mike Wallis Trucking Incorporated, which he built into a very successful business. Mike was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. 

On January 25, 1975, Mike married the love of his life, Vicki McElreath. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1985. He was also preceded in death by his in law's Jim and Melba McElreath. 

Mike is survived by three sons, Steven and wife Ashley Wallis, Justin Wallis, Jeffrey and wife Christina Wallis, grandchildren Kayla, Jace, Lindsi, Michael, and Brady, parents Deloyd and Betty Wallis, brother Don and wife Teda Wallis, three brother in laws Jimmy and wife Billie McElreath, Ricky and wife Della McElreath, and David McElreath, and three nieces Tana Kulhanek, Kristina Wallis, and Stacy McElreath, two nephews Travis Wallis and Rode McElreath, and several great nephews and nieces. 

The family wants to express their appreciation to Dr. Victor Hirsh and his staff, many customers, business associates and so many very good friends.
