In Memory

Charles (Chuck) Leslie Terzian

CHARLES (CHUCK) LESLIE TERZIAN

Abilene, TX

On Friday, March 17, 2017, at age 63, Charles Leslie Terzian - better known as Chuck, Charlie, Chaz, Chuckey - slipped from the bonds of pain and began playing bass guitar again with the angels. Chuck was born into an Air Force family and began school in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was a 1971 graduate of Cooper in Abilene and attended the University of Texas at Austin. Charlie was an accomplished jeweler who could cast, create, and repair. His greatest love and source of joy, however, was playing music and writing songs. When he played the bass guitar true happiness emanated from him. Among the bands he played with were Scratch, Tommy Pierce and the Personals, Van Wilks, Full House, and That Band. He left behind boxes of papers and countless emails containing his originally composed songs, poems, and lyrics.

His mom, Marty Terzian, his sister Toni & her husband Larry Wellhausen all of Abilene; his brother Bob & his wife Alicja Terzian of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins trust Chuck is now out of pain, without worries, and his spirit soars free. Surely he was met with open arms by his dad, Jack Terzian, and the debate on the best way to BBQ continues.

Many thanks to Chuck's friends in Abilene and Austin who watched over, took care of, encouraged, and loved him, especially during the past few years of his declining health - Lis & Allen, Doug, Shannon, Jon, Ace, Dickie, Noel, Davey, Allen, Johnny and Larry.

A memorial service to celebrate Chuck will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 3:30PM at Wylie Christian Church, 6250 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, 79606, with Doug Roysden officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Wylie Christian Church.
