Randall (Randy) Wilkins Cason, Sr. VIEW PROFILE

United States Army Test Pilot and the best Husband, Father, and Papa.

Randall W. Cason, Sr., 46, died Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at his home in Danbury, Connecticut.

Services will be held Monday, 2 p.m., at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with David McQuiston, uncle, officiating.  Burial will be at Elliott-Hamil Memorial Garden.  Visitation will be Sunday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, Hwy 277 S, 7 to 9 p.m.

Randy was born in Wellington, Texas on December 3, 1952.  In 1971, he graduated from Cooper High School.  In 1975, he earned his bachelor's degree from Hardin-Simmons University and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army.  In 1984, LTC Cason graduated from the U.S. Naval Pilot Test School, Patuxent River Air Station, Maryland.  In 1987, he was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.  He is a graduate of both the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College.  He was a dual rated Master Aviator with more than 6,000 flying hours in more than 50 types of aircraft.  He retired from the United States Army in 1997, and most recently was Business Development and Chief Test Pilot at Safeflight International, White Plains, New York.

Randall Cason married Jannette McQuiston in Richmond, Indiana, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in 1972.  They were active members of Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel, Connecticut.  Cason was a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and the Army Aviation Association of America.

Survivors include his wife; daughter Charva Cason of Waco; son and daughter-in-law Capt Randall, Jr. and Christy Cason of Mountain Home AFB, Idaho; two grandchildren; Randall III (Trey) and Kaylynn; mother, Mrs. Charles (Eva) Cason of Abilene; brothers and sisters, Charles Cason, III of Arlington, Rhonda and Mike Mayfiend of Lubbock, Candace and Kevin Grantham of Plano, and Ricky Cason of Abilene; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clare and Charlene McQuiston of Richmond, Indiana; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doug and Colleen McQuiston of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Judy and Bill Testin of Indianapolis, Indiana, Greg and Birgit McQuiston of Dayton, Ohio, and Jo and Pat McCree of Carlock, Illinois.
